Direct Billing for Therapy in Calgary, Alberta
Revolution Therapy & Wellness offers direct billing to major insurance providers across Alberta, so you can focus on your healing, not the paperwork.
Several of our clinicians are registered with insurance panels and can submit claims on your behalf at the time of your session. Direct billing availability varies by clinician and provider, so we've made it easy to see exactly who bills what below.
What Is Direct Billing?
Direct billing (also called assignment of benefits) means your therapist submits your insurance claim directly to your provider after your session. Instead of paying the full fee upfront and waiting for reimbursement, you pay only your remaining balance, if any, at the time of your appointment.
This reduces financial barriers to accessing mental health support, which aligns with our commitment to radical access and equitable care.

Does My Plan Cover Therapy?
Coverage depends on your specific plan. We recommend checking your benefits before your first session. Here's what to look for:
- Registered Social Worker (RSW): Covered under many extended health plans. Check if your plan specifies "social work" or "clinical counselling."
- Registered Psychologist (RPsych)/Registered Provisional Psychologist: Covered under most extended health plans with a psychology benefit.
- Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying): Covered under plans that include psychotherapy. Less common in AB-based plans but increasingly recognized.

Contact your HR department or benefits provider directly and ask: "Does my plan cover sessions with a [designation] and does the provider offer direct billing?"
IFHP / Interim Federal Health Program
Several RTW clinicians are registered to bill under the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), which provides temporary health coverage for eligible newcomers to Canada, including refugees and refugee claimants.

How to Set Up Direct Billing
- Book your session through our online booking system
- Email us your insurance information before your first appointment, including your provider name, plan number, and certificate/member ID
- We submit the claim on your behalf after your session
- You pay any remaining balance not covered by your plan
